Rock Elm is a fantastic, unusual wood. It is generally not
available on the modern market. It is an incredibly slow
growing tree. 20-plus growth rings to the inch is pretty
common in the material that we see. That's 100 years for a
10-inch diameter tree!
The end grains are fantastic. That's probably the best
part of this wood. We try to integrate the end grains wherever
we can in our designs. The 4th pictures down gives shows
these end grain colors off nicely.
